Lead Parts Manager – Elburn, IL

Position Overview:
As the Lead Parts Manager, you will oversee the parts teams across all branches, ensuring efficient operations, inventory management, and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will drive department goals and align with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory turns, slow-moving items, and purchasing/expediting processes.
- Implement Min / Max strategies into inventory control protocols.
- Ensure and accurate inventory control and optimal customer fill rates.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise parts sales associates, including hiring, training, and development.
- Provide direction and leadership to staff to meet operational goals.
- Vendor Customer Relations:
- Maintain relationships with key vendors to foster growth within our partnerships.
- Actively engage key customers to maintain satisfaction, loyalty and personable relations.
- Operational Oversight:
- Lead efforts to find alternative procurement sources for financial improvements.
- Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient shipping/receiving processes.
- Plan and implement procedures to maximize department efficiency.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and attain short- and long-term objectives aligned with company goals.
- Develop processes to enhance department performance.
- Provide annual forecast and budgets to senior management.
- Reporting:
- Create routine and ad hoc reports for management.
- Share ongoing win / loss data with the team for departmental growth and improvement.
- Professional Standards:
- Support and enforce company policies, procedures and a positive culture.
- Exhibit professionalism in behavior, communication, and appearance.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of experience in the drilling / heavy equipment industry or similar parts operations/sales experience.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and inventory control theory.
- Supervisory or management training is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of product features, pricing principles, and warehouse storage layout.
- Proven ability to analyze complex documents and make sound decisions.
- Experienced in the daily use of an ERP system to manage inventory and creation of invoices.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Physical ability to squat, twist, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead.
- Capability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.

Heavy Equipment Technician – Elburn, IL
Job Overview:
Rig Source is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team.
Rig Source has been in business for over 20 years and has the world’s largest Geotechnical and Environmental rental fleet in the world.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment. Rig Source services Geoprobe, CME, Diedrich, and many more. You will work closely with other technicians and our operations team to provide high-quality customer service and ensure that all equipment is well maintained and safe to operate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on heavy equipment to identify issues and malfunctions including engine overhauls, oil changes, filter replacements, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical issues following OEM schematics.
- Work closely with parts team to determine parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance schedules.
- Perform quality checks on equipment after maintenance and repairs are completed.
- Conduct equipment inspections and make recommendations for repairs or replacement.
- Utilize ERP system for entering time on jobs with detailed scope of work.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed.
- Communicate with operations team and other technicians to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with at least 2-3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
